KOPÓS AT HOME AND PLAY
Kopós are delightful dogs, very active when you're ready but very mellow when you're not. They are medium size, with males typically weighing 65 to 75 pounds and females weighing 45 to 55 pounds. Males are also taller than females, standing about two feet high at their shoulders. Their lines are simple and free of exaggerated features, their coat is short, somewhat coarse with a high luster, while shedding is not a problem.
They are very intelligent and they learn quickly. A Kopó in new surroundings learns to separate recurring patterns from unusual events. The mailman will be an event the first time, but after that will just be part of the recurring pattern, not worth barking at. They are bred to be hunters and are first-rate scent hounds, still used to hunt wild boar in their native Transylvania (for good reason--it is delicious!) The photos say more than we could about how they get along with children and our other pets!
